What is the 2199 Observer?

This blog is being created on the wake of what i consider to be the best remake ever, be it in the world of anime, sci-fi or TV in general. The name of that remake is SPACE BATTLESHIP YAMATO 2199, based on the classic 1974 anime Space Battleship Yamato, known in most of the western world by the title of it's english language adaptation Star Blazers.
